Information for Getting Started as a Distributor

By applying to become a Distributor for Community Food Smart your organization commits to the following:  ​
- Promote the Program: Share information about the bulk food buying service with clients who would benefit from access to affordable, nutritious fresh produce.  

 - Manage Memberships: Maintain a membership database, ensure accuracy.  

- Handle Payments: Collect payments bag orders, issuing receipts for all transactions id required (note: personal cheques are not accepted).  

- Manage Food Bags: Collect returned bags to ensure smooth operations.  

- Submit Orders and Funds: Complete a summary order form electronically by the due date and remit all collected funds to the CFS Coordinator.  

- Organize Pickup Points: Provide space for members to pick up their produce bags on the designated delivery day and follow up with members who miss their pickups.  

- Support Packing and Delivery: Arrange for one or two volunteers to assist with packing and delivery tasks.  

- Handle Member Inquiries: Address individual member questions and complaints promptly and courteously.

- Participate in Surveys: Engage in occasional surveys and assessments to help improve the program.
